d100 Stuff hidden in a monsters nest

One of the biggest differences between this monster nest and last humanoid bed table is nests are used for breeding. Monsters might collect shiny stuff to attract mates or tasty adventurers. Most monsters don't value treasure for human reasons.

Sensible monsters dont poop in own nests but have a heap on fringe of territory. Parents carry baby poop away so smell does not lure predators to nest. Many monsters collect grass, straw or vegetation for bedding or weaving into a nest. Dungeon bosses know providing straw helps monster breed and stay stronger. Still shovelling monster poop is one of the worst dungeon jobs (after fighting adventurers of course). Veteran adventurers can recognise nests and excrement of classic monsters.

So thanks for patience as i accidentally published about 1pm then did a bit more at twopm b4 work and finished 9:40pm

Looking at last few entries - thinking im watching too  much Time Team on youtube so I could probably write d100 slightly interesting but mostly crap magical fragments - historically useful or collectible but could provide magical clues for spell research or location of a lost dungeon.

d100 Stuff hidden in a Humanoids bed

Realized my mutation tables idea has been totally re written 3 times over 4 years.

Am writing 80s white dwarf style for no  particular rule set more. Had a idea for mutations as a character class (mutations have levels like spells). So a new bug in mutation writing but funny to have a bash at. Have several long term unpublished posts.

Have been asked to run 20s cthulhu and am running ww1 cthulhu for Sydcon. Missing DnD. Might continue old horror team of 14th lv with two players or do new setting or rest of setting. Other possibility was a BRP fantasy game based on a long running game I ran about 1990. DnD is appealing because i miss it and it has own kind of fun. BRP good for grit and horror and phew only impaled my leg not my head kind of play. More Homeric violence. DnD part of the fun is quantitative growth and obvious superiority to lower levels.

As Im reading my 1990s era Pendragon horde (only need two more books and i ought have wales book as im 1/4 Welsh. Thinking simplified BRP with d20 had a lot of promise for other less gritty games. d20 BRP might be good for the less matchs crunchy kids. Tables i made up for BRP really speed play. Maybe d20 will speed up play. I like the personality trait system and characters are naughty and might not do what player wants. Have interesting ideas for religion and these passions and traits. Might run one off Pendragon on a holiday game.

Anyway here is a dungeon decor table because my parties search monsters mattresses till they get worms or ticks. When you get higher level you get your servants to look and higher still you let your torchbearers and poleboys take what they want.

BRP Booster cards revised

I am writing up petty mutations, crystal dungeon zone ecology and d100 Bogans - but thought id play with this again.

I want something for my low manna BRP games, they use normal cards available anywhere and they can push story telling in game. If characters know they can escape they will let themselves be caught which almost never happens in RPG games but are common on TV.

Had players save a good hand to kill a villain alone (Nemesis, Champion, Martyr), get glory, get their sweet hearts (romance), not die in childbirth, scab a bit of extra loot and avoid death dramatically. I encourage cool and entertaining uses. Kinda opposite of my usual simulations grognard stuff.

Im hoping my roadwar game will benefit from more awesome stunts

Cards for GM are only for when party are doing too well not to hit them when they are down. If Villains bosses are worried then GM can invoke a card. I have not played too much with the GM version and am more flexible with their future. I had a earlier hand made deck influenced by TORG before all this so some card ideas still unused. Had others that let players swap cards with each other and other and other meta card effects I could develop but gets to micro-gamey. GM cards are meant to be obstacles, hazzards and trials.

Every one gets three cards
You can spend any or all cards in your posetion in a game
You get one new card per session
If you have three cards you can swap the new session card with ones in your hand
If GM has a deck they draw last after players
GM might award a bonus card above the standard three but once spent stuck with basic three cards
Keep track of cards in play usually use one deck

Doh! King in lower case on tables

d100 Rustic Rural Folk

A series of mostly lowbrow lowtech people that you meet in the Murder Race world. I will use some colourful Australian language in future episodes, possibly offensive but authentic but mostly for use in the slum-burbs section. Women folk are just as dangerous as the men and fanatic if defending kids or home so don't be a idiot.

Will do suburban bogans for the slum-burbs clinging to the walled city states. Then the inner city scumbags or the mostly criminal class Transfer zone surrounding the cities. d100 Cops and law officers for Roadwar

So Im distracted from my d100 crystal monuments and back onto stuff i can use in game like this.

d10 Quick Cops and Law officers
1 Vigilantes are armed locals often self appointed to keep outsiders away. Tend to be distinctive individuals or a gang rather than a trained force, they may not have local approval. Many are corrupt and abuse their power, possibly molesting travellers for kicks.
2 Militia are civil defence associations from rural towns under threat from gangs. They are raised by a leader or authoritative body and make some effort to train and equip them and provide uniforms or at least hats. Some militia come to take power over their communities if civil leaders fail.
3 Country sheriff are appointed by courts or mayor or town vote in areas not covered by fed or state or city governments. Sherrifs vary in ability and quality of equiptment. Some are dangerous trailer trash given authority others are heroic lone gunmen.
4 State highway patrol with pursuit and anti gang units are state government force to control roadways and at least maintain the major highways are operational. They may make other operations or missions and are  probably the coolest looking lawmen. Even if the vetrans are a bit funny.
5 Urban PD from city state capitol or large town policed unit, probably on a mission for their city state as mostly they seldom leave the city policed zone. Sydney cars are coolest and fastest. Melbourne's have biggest guns. Brisbane send mutants or cyborg cops on outside missions.
6 Riot squad with vehicles and heavily armoured police with non lethal arms. Will block roads with barriers and car traps, deploy shields and are heavily armoured enough to ignore enemy fire then capture enemies alive. Mostly from large towns or cities especially industrial or slum areas. Most frequently deploy dogs and horses. They may use experimental riot weapons.
7 Police STAR force (Special Tasks and Rescue) with snipers, heavy weapons, special forces and rescue operations. Trained in wide range of paramilitary situations including rappelling from copters and mountain climbing. Have equipment for rescues especially removing motorists from crashed cars.
8 Corporate Security and Mercenaries for private policed zones are private law areas licensed to act as police on company property or by contracted clients of companies. Well equipped with special forces and air support. Will put government over locals or government forces. May be corrupt but dificult to prosecute. Some have been outright criminal.
9 Military various branches and ability from reserves to front line cyborg vets. Military doesn't want to kill you but if you are in the wrong place they wont care when they kill you. Military deal with big problems like bioplagues, disasters, undead, mutant animals and occasionally are called on to cleanse gangs on a section of road. The politicians who direct them worry more about accidentally helping terrorists than accidentally killing a few innocents.
10 Government Agents from various agencies including MIB. Many plainclothes departments have agents but some are especially mysterious. Tax, finance, postal dept, are common but intelligence agents looking for terrorism or threats to national security. Some from experimental operations command seek strange stuff like cults and saucers. Most are plainclothes with suits and unmarked cars with concealed weapons. Some prefer black cars and suits. Teams mostly surveillance but might question travelers. They generally are equipped as special forces when not concealed in plain clothes but prefer to call in other agencies for prolonged combat or actions.

WW1 Resources

"Norton-Griffiths was charged with forming the Royal Engineer tunneling companies. He recruited miners who had worked underground since childhood, tough and resourceful characters of all ages and political backgrounds who often had been rejected by the army on grounds of health or age. Within hours of leaving Civvy Street, Hellfire Jack, as he came to be known, had them digging beneath France and Flanders, immersed in a dark struggle to the death".

Weapons for Roadwar

So this is vehicle weapon notes for roadwar so my poor players can finally access in game. Shopping for more toys as new season matchbox and hotwheels about but i think other than the retro bodies i wanted for cthulhu not much. Finding models called 1/72 scale that cant be. Some more fighter planes that are possible to use in session of future space fighter game. Another brit ww1 tank. Tempted by two apc models. Got mars attacks rule compendium too.

Machine guns are the standard vehicle weapon. As each shot in a burst adds +5 with a max of double chance to hit make a very easy to hit with weapon that can hit multiple targets. Ammo comes in belts of 100 rounds that come in metal cassettes or drums factory loaded for some weapons. Can get disintegrating belts that leave no trace for x2 price. AP or DU Ammo common variants with tracer belts for night fighting popular (one in 10 shots a tracer).

Rockets are cheap and expendable. Rocket launchers and pods are simple and come in more secure clip config that launches one rocket at a time. The other config is a tube per rocket which can fire all rounds at once but is more vulnerable version to external fire and may be aimed at. Otherwise crude homemade external mount tubes are very vulnerable and only take half the space. These are the most vulnerable type easily hit in an attack. Various payloads are available and even types of smart ammo which leads to.....

Missiles are self-directed drone weapons with various targeting systems and fuses such as radar, laser, target recognition, thermal or satellite guided. Various payloads ground to ground and ground to air most standard types.

Grenade Launchers fire 40mm explosive round with a wide variety of types making it a versatile weapon system. Even buckshot rounds turning them into shotguns or solid slugs. Frag are popular but plastic flachettes are popular for anti-personnel rounds that don’t hurt vehicles. Smoke grenades are popular and often come in a sixpack config that can fire any or all rounds at once. Belt fed versions have settings that control explosion spreads.

Rotary Gatling Guns are like machine guns but they have higher fire rates and have rotating barrels and large ammo hoppers. Good to hose down multiple targets.

Archaic weapons are based on pre modern weapons used by bandits and wasteland freaks who cant get guns. Harpoon includes steel cable lines that can be attached to winches and are used by raiders to capture and slow target vehicles.

Flamethrowers are horrible but effective weapons. They get no range penalties due to 45 degree cone effect of fire. Once hit if a victim gets a luck roll and if they fail burn 1d10 rounds for 1d6 damage per round. Rolling in dirt or immersion or fire extinguisher will end faster. Success with luck roll results in one location 1d3 damage for 1d3 rounds and is easier to extinguish. A special luck roll takes no extra damage.

Laser weapons tap electric car batteries 5% a shot or can spend half again extra spaces to have a battery for ten shots that the vehicle can recharge while vehicle moves. Lasers are counted as armour piercing and damage armour in locations as they cut through.

Artillery are long range heave weapons used on military vehicles like tanks or field pieces that provide support or long range attacks. A variety of solid or canister rounds are available.

Dropped Weapons are deposited from under or from rear of vehicle. They can be fired often by a co pilot or passenger leaning over the driver easily. Some drop goods in a 2x2m square others leaves area 2m wide and 3m long. They can be dropped one at a time or left on auto dropping a unit per second till turned off. Caltrops are large spikes that slash tires of vehicles in a 2m square. Car trap is a unfolding metal spiked plate that destroys ordinary tires in a four meter line. Paint sprayer makes a cloud of paint that ruins visibility temporarily as a cloud and then from painting windscreens. Oil Sprayer makes road surface slippery. Flaming oil dropper leaves a slippery burning patch producing black clouds of smoke. Mine Droppers deposit clusters of micro anti vehicular mines. Alternative fuses and mine types available. Ice generator sprays water and freon gas to create an ice slick and sometimes a temporary fog cloud in right weather. Smoke generator is useful to block visibility and hide from enemy fire. Good to cover mines. Gas generators mostly use tear gas but other types available, some invisible and other opaque clouds. Bomb charges can be set with remote or motion or timers. Leaves craters in road and debris. Demolition packs can destroy a road or damage a bridge.
