Blood and Bronze (BnB) Coming Soon

(Sorry Trey commented on original post and it got gobbled up by web spiders so I re-made it)

Blood and Bronze is a oldschool in style fantasy game set in ancient Mesopotaimia. I was contacted by one of the creators and have seen PDF proof which looks great. Classes have interesting abilities and the game has some good art and interesting tables which helps it's oldschool flavour and could be used for any sandbox with ancient desert flavour. While it has own mechanics they seem familiar enough. Certainly useful for any ancient near east or desert fantasy games. Comes with adventures and more in the pipeline which is a good plan for a new game. Has a good beginners scenario for a prison break with lots of good detail.

I will do a full review later when Ive read it and hope to include pix of he book but here is link with a pdf with basic classes and info on game releases. I'm tempted to perhaps run and write some stuff for it. Apparently Olav has used some of my Mesopotaimian image dumps on this blog to set mood for new players. Check It Out bloodandbronze.com

Im still hoping for Puerta De Ishtar by Rodrigo Garcia Carmona to come out in English - I got art pack from Drivethrough but the game has truly horrible demonology I would like to use.

Goto my sidebar on left for more mesopotaimian madness and my image dumps - possibly the best visual online resource on subject. I collected this stuff when i was supposed to be doing classics. Lecturers abused me when I said Iraq did it first - now there are text books about it. When I get to scanning I will work through my pile of photocopies from kids books and uni library books. Encyclopedia of ancient near east full of scholarly docs on everything my art school had too.

I have probably a thousand minis for this setting1/72 of course

Pugmire rpg on kickstarter - Sadly Im probably supporting this even though I like cats more - Looks very well crafted product conceptually and visually.

Stuff I Want: Gangbusters New Edition Plus

Gangbusters was a TSR classic and like oldschool tsr boxsets you could use maps and components to solo play a bit. I got a copy for a good price last year and i had all the modules for a buck thirty years ago to use with cthulhu as i never saw game in shops. Id been wanting to run trouble brewing as a con game for a whole but cons cockblock older games. If I ran as cthulhu cops and robbers would be fine. Now all my versions of BRP dated will see what happens there.

A few years ago the creator of Gangbusters had his rights returned which is something you dont hear about often enough. So a bit later Mark Hunter has been cranking out new modules numbered sequentially from original series and many new things like npc cards using actual retro mug shots. A box set is on the way including the same 1/72 cop and robber minis I use in my cthulhu games. We have had a few exchanges and I have encouraged the projrcy. Marc has a huge output of good looking stuff. Possibly after I recommended he post on some oldshool TSR FB groups it seems someone called IP infringement and halted this stuff for a bit till he satisfied the WOC guys was legit. I hope they try and make up for what must have been a effort for Marc or at least apologies (my gripe not his). This new improved edition has lots of love and also has supplements on including pulp and supernatural elements. I hope to run a con game later in year and might have a go at writing some stuff for it.

This link is to the weird tales book but you can find more of his stuff through this
http://www.rpgnow.com/product/172443/GangBustersThe-Blue-Book-Detective-Agency-Beginner-

These picks include the same brand of 1/72 minis in the new box set - cops and civilians, gangsters and Boxer rebelion Volenteers. The cars are a mix of Hotwheels hotrods and other toy cars (blue one i found on street as I was wishing for vintage cars). The pre 1920s models are readers digest collectables on ebay alot - mine in a blister pack (they look better in pack). I think my grandpa had these in late 70s. You can get trucks too similar set but ppl want $5 each, mine were $20 for six and i found a few in antique stores for$2. One shop abused me for being cheap. One shop I found 70s brit made matchbox cars for 50c worth $20-30 to collectors.

Minis on amazon and ebay alot so shop around

d100 Gruesome deaths and punishments

This is for those saints and martyrs stories, tragic travesties of justice, family tragedies and other occasions a painful end is required. Also good for threats to rescue people from or escape from. Tame stuff like hangings are for sissies. I would like to thank world religions for some of these. Government for the rest. Trigger warning if you were executed in a past incarnation!

a interesting book

d100 whats in a hobgoblins war trunk

Had requests for Paetron and PDFs of late which i will look into when i move. I always wanted do do a number of my dungeon zone books (redbrick one mostly done but i haven't touched it for a year - also most of a Gothic and goblin mine one). Editing rally my biggest bug - i had volunteers but i wasnt even happy with my draft too pass on to others. I even have some commissioned art but getting this late was a big discouragement. One piece I waited 2 years for something that didn't follow brief. Still when i can afford it I know lots of amazing out of work artists who's politics have ruined their careers. I'm happy to work with and be friends with ppl who disagree as long as they don't hate and blame women or other races for their problems. I mostly feel sorry for conspiritards especially when you can see it makes them more powerless and ruins their lives.

While I consider the monster manual versions i like the wikepedia monster descriptions too.

Hobgoblins are the bigger more aggressive and warlike big brothers of goblins. While more serious and disciplined they are still goblins, prone to mischief and tantrums. While more disciplined and brave they can be provoked by insults. At best they are hard working labourers, good at digging, tree felling and carrying loads.
At worst they are cruel and vindictive. Less skilled at agriculture than goblins but alright gardenersYou might hire them as farm workers but mind your tongue. Elites use heavy plate armour and halberds. Alone they are more wiling to talk and be recruited. En mass they conform. While their martial order might seem lawful they are more willing to disobey orders on battlefield if angry or overconfident. While goblins enjoy subterranean life hobgoblins prefer rural living. When not fighting and working they relax with stories, jokes, saucy poems and games. While a bit rough they can be more fun and cultured than orcs. Hobgoblins ar more likley to have individual hobbies and collections than orcs.

Hobgoblins carry trunks with them and these are the kinds of things they store in them.

d100 whats in a orcs satchel

Im still stumped on my magic farm animal tables so more stuff from my goblin mine sourcebook to do list.
Orcs are a young race kin to humans, elves and goblinoids but a product of gods and wizards. Mostly live to fight and plunder preferring hunting and theft for food. Gathering wild food like grubs and fungi is tolerable but they would prefer to eat a humanoid than look for low food. Most orcs travel light and carry everything with them in a warband.
