So we managed to have covid calm down and I was clear so we met up for a Sunday game. I had forgotten we had a whole session with the characters versus fish folk where they got lots of dubious magic items and a few that were actually handy.
So the party includes:
Barbarian herder warrior and his pet bird
A draconic changeling with druid magic and a spearman friend
Wizard lady with a weak but earnest friend
The party had made good friends with marsh folk and it was time to visit Copper Town, a rich growing barbarian trade town with many red smiths. It was the biggest settlement they had seen and it had a variety of barbarian and storm shrines and a vast Enki temple estate to the north. All had a good time and stayed in the outside marsh folk camp.
The changeling met up with a few snake charmers and met cultists in their compound within the town. His draconic language and snake familiarity impressed the snake folk. In the underground chamber, he was charmed by a naga who found the changelings property mostly worthless. Was questioned and released but made friends and got to sleep with the naga. The naga has lots of ancient snake lore and the snake people and the changeling were firm friends. Has been learning serpent script and language. Usually, players are a bit higher than the second level before having supernatural offspring.
The fighter got a copper helmet and proper military weapons and a longbow (which they hope to replace with a composite bow). Got a suit of magic leather from his sky cult and was happy to see barbarians doing so well at adapting to civilised commerce. Met a wild mountain lady visiting town with cattle and had a brief affair. Met her later at the sky temple.

The wizard being a nerd read and didn't get invited to any parties.
They decided to head home with their flashy fortune and new weapons and check op a fish folk cult secret temple closer to the home they discovered from maps,
At home, they arrived during an assembly and the whole town dropped everything and had a feast. The next day the barbarian fighter did some superlative goat herding. The party were grateful but bored with the prospect of village chores. So onto the secret buried fish temple.
Was a wasteland ruin of just foundations near an old dry river bed. Once a temple was here and the fish folk briefly ruled the land from here as a local administrative centre for fish theocracy.
While searching the rubble on the surface they met a clan of six tomb robbers from a nomad tribe from over the border in the snake kingdom. They agreed to unite and entered. The party fighter kept the frontline with spell support and martial arts of the changeling. As the fish cultists and hybrids were driven back the robbers would poor through the lines and slit throats and grab loot of fallen very efficiently. Manged to slaughter a whole encounter in a round at peak. After fighting several rooms of fishy pilgrims they realised enemy were alarmed. Came across a room full of tablets and as the wizard knew fish script she directed friends to load up on fishy philosophy, lore and magic. One of the robbers was hurt and they were all battered and low on spells so retired for the night.
Met a serpent folk changeling wizard who identified itself to the dragon changeling and it explained that it was here to spy on the fish temple. It discussed the heroes stories of fish filleting and estimated they have depleted the temple and would join them. In the morning all rested and a bit less sore. One robber and a wounded unconscious man would remain in the camp while four black-robed robbers and the friendly serpent person would return.
This time the dragon used his fish cult mask to explore some waterways and realised more sacrificial items and monsters were in the connected sacred pools. Found a library and the wizard got several new spells in the cuniform of the fish folk. After a large temple chamber with zombies, hybrids and fish folk warriors they had a close call. There was some bad luck with spells and some help from the serpent. The hybrids fell first followed by the fish folk. There were some bad wounds but the serpent man was sure that they really just had the priest now. Other fish folk had fled to the surface or water, Caught a priest in his room and he kept casting spells on himself while the adventurers were smashing his door down. The warrior and changeling were paralysed and it cast the command "Die!" on the wizard. They managed to beat him it just and were relieved when the robbers scouted out the rest. The wizard's spells failed on the fish who as a priest with a protection spell on. Did some looting and searching wary of attacks from the pools. These fish folk were paler of a subterranean clan.

Returned home with new bandit friends who camped nearby. The snake man said he would keep his tongue ready for signs of fishy odours. Apparently, the snake kingdom to the north has lots of espionage against the fish cults.
Finally, A-Z desert ruins are almost done
I have been selling off lots of books and some comics
